On leaving school Noel went straight into the Rock & Roll industry, working for one of the hardest working bands of the time, Stray, as a lighting and drum tech. During this time they toured with heavyweights such as Black Sabbath, Rush and Kiss.

Noel left Stray in 1976 to get married and find a proper job. Around 1980 Noel discovered an interest in photography attending many courses, finally studying under Michael Lea at Waltham Forest Collage. For many years Noel photographed weddings whilst working freelance for local newspapers.

In 1995 Noel was invited by Stray to photograph the band live. Since then this is the path Noel's photography has taken.

Noel's portfolio includes some of the worlds major rock acts, including; Ringo Starr, Iron Maiden, Heaven & Hell, ZZ Top, Foreigner, Bad Co, Deep Purple, Chickenfoot, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Joe Perry, Blondie, Kasabian, Joe Bonamassa, UFO, Motorhead, Ronnie James Dio, Queensryche & Black Country Communion.

Not only does Noel nail the shot but it is always a joy to see him at my shows.
A great photographer, bloke and music lover!  Thanks Noel

“Noel always gets the killer wide shots, please pass on our thanks for yet another wonderful shoot”
Merv Goldsworthy - FM

Noel Buckley is one of the only photographers I know that can capture the live experiences I present. I insist on using him at any gig I do in London and if possible ANY where else! He has a great history and a great eye for movement, intensity and always makes me look better than I really do. Rock on Noel!
Kory Clarke - Warrior Soul

One of the best rock concert photographers around – always a pleasure to deal with
Don McKay - Rhino Agency

Blind as a bat, it's amazing how Buckley can still capture the best out of any artist...
Even makes wrinkly old ladies look young
